We were welcomed by Diepenheim's Art Society Chairman
Just Schimmelpenninck
The Director of the Mondriaan Foundation
Birgit Donker
and Lucas Lenglet explained how it went!
Bridget and Lucas then blessed MONOMET
with water from the Upper Regge River!
 Let the party begin!
The weatherman was right! Rain between 4 and 6 pm!

Het Gazebo!

 and MONOMET

Designed by Lucas Lenglet

 Climb the stairs....
 Experience ....
 The view!
From here you can appreciate Het Gazebo!
Urbain Mulkers (1945 - 2002) art work!
MONOMET  It's a movable steel structure!
 Turn the wheel....
 and the base slides out!
So that there is still access to the pumping station !
And the hostas are still intact! What a genius work of art!
Today Het gazebo work party volunteers
and a team busy with MONOMET
 enjoyed Summer weather...
and a few good Summer showers....down pours!
22 mm rain fell today!
 Super for the Hostas!
It was so dry and warm here for the past few weeks!
 Hosta flowers !
The great team of volunteers have been at it for two years !
 The original plan!

North Holland!

This year, the Dutch Hosta Society's Summer garden tour
visited the province of North Holland!
The first stop was in Sint Pancras!
What a great welcome!
The Berger Family was the host of the first garden of the day!
Name badges, register for the leaf show, coffee...
and the friendly welcome given by
our new chairman Jos van Unen!
Piet Vriend was thanked by all!
Time to explore this garden full of inspiration!
Great ideas! Colour! Hostas!
Something for everyone, for every garden!
After lunch we all headed to the second garden of the day in Anna Pauwlona! It's called Garden3(Tuin3) ! Why? It's their third garden, they live at number 3 and there were 3 big trees! The day was warming up! Blue skies and sunshine! Refreshments! Jane welcomed us with a lovely explanation about their garden and her only having two hostas....
 This one!
And this one!
An order of Lily of the Valley grew to be these!
Turned out to be a good mistake! They look great!
Time flies by on a garden tour! Time to go...
Next stop....Nico Zonneveld
a nursery in Heerhugowaard!
There were hostas there as well!
More plants, coffee, plants...it's a great day!
Then back to the first address for the results of the Leaf Show !
Thanks to all who brought leaves and vases and to the jury!
We rounded off the day with the Hosta Happy Hour! In the garden!
Hosta friendships, laughter,  and new plants to take home!
Thanks to all who made this a fantastic day out!

Hosta Nursery days!

Hostas....What Else !?
Hosta days by Hostas growers!
What a great way to meet up with friends! Yesterdays18 mm rainfall didn't keep the fans away! Today's 20C kept them coming! Hosta enthusiasts from all corners of The Netherlands as well as Belgium and Germany drove kilometers to get that much needed, great quality,  Hosta! Hostas mostly! Who can leave with just one? :) There were people with lists, shopping carts loaded up, paid for and then loaded into cars to then make their way to new borders, planters and gardens!
Fresh from the farm in Barneveld!
This is an egg vending machine!
Just in case you were wondering!
