Are not the days of the month

but the temperatures the last couple of days 

at Het Gazebo!

Today was a cooler 24 C !

And a bit of shade made the weeding doable !

Nice suprise amongst the bigger hostas !

Another warm weekend ahead !

Then it's back to anormal rainy cooler and enjoyable

Dutch Summer !

Gardeners do like talking about the weather !

It was the coldest Ascension Day (Hemelvaartsdag)

14th of May this year, since 2014 !

Then today, it was a warm 18 C in Diepenheim !

Highs of 25 C and above starting Friday and continuing

through out next week!

Hostas will be growing for sure

after all the rain the last few weeks !

Could this be the Hosta virus ?

Beter remove them with caution just to be sure.

Rainy days in May !

Are much appriciated after April !

It was one of the top 3 driest April months on record !

Last week was just to rainy to enjoy getting out there.

Today there were a few " local showers" which 

were more like a local downpour ! 

Het Gazebo is filling and growing in nicely !

Hosta leaves are always best after the rain !

The last hostas have been planted !

This week has been rather cool for this time of year.

Hostas are the perfect plant for this climate !

 

 

Hostas in the May Vacation

Another dry and warm week here in Diepenheim.

This has been very beneficial for the volunteers !

Het Gazebo is weed free and looking fantastic !

It sooned warmed up to 19 C !

A busy week at Het Gazebo !

First we'll start with NL Doet !

The volunteers arrived a day early :)

The weather forecast was much better than expected on Friday !

So, with a the enthusiastic group of people, they 

covered the paths with bark mulch, weeded

and enjoyed a great lunch together !

Today, a Spring like sunny blue sky 15 C day!

The volunteers were expanding the hosta beds,

replanted the newly created areas and weeded.

Wow ! Lots of work the last week !

This will be great in just a few months time !

 

Het Gazebo prepares for NL Doet !

Today there were a few volunteers busily preparing for this coming Friday. It's time for the yearly NL Doet volunteer action day ! New volunteers are encouraged to sign up and take part in registerd organizations that need volunteers throughout the year. Maybe joining in at Het Gazebo in Diepenheim is for you ?  Friday the 13th just might be your lucky day !
