This Hosta leaf, Het Gazebo, is changing

to its Autumn shade, under a banket of red beech leaves !
Cloudy and dry enough, with a high of 15 C, the volunteers
could have their coffee with home baked goods outside.

Next week it's November !
Nights will be getting colder !
There are still a lot of leaves yet to fall !

A very foggy morning !

The Netherlands was covered in a thick layer of fog this morning !
Autumn ! Sure is colourful !
Lots of different fungi to find !
Hostas changing colour !
Hosta 'Wu-la-la' !
And the mist coated spider webs are a sure sign it's October !
But wait ! What's this !
New growth and a snail !

Feels like 21 C !

It was one of those beautiful Autumn days when
the weather's great, the sun comes out and
the volunteers make a weeding difference at Het Gazebo !
Perfect any time of year
but especially now it's
the famous appelgebak ,
Dutch Apple Pie !

How long will this stay green ?
Mid October and still shining !

Autumn hostas golden hues

Het Gazebo, 15 C, Wednesday morning and it was dry.
The volunteers are fighting the battle of the weeds and
are doing a great job keeping Het Gazebo looking great !

Het Gazebo is looking good !

For October !
There are still a few more enjoyable Autumn weeks to stroll
amongst the hostas in Diepenheim !
Another hosta in the spotlight
Venetian Dream Hosta – Bright blue color changing to a shiny dark green in late summer. Heavily rippled margin and somewhat unruly. Sounds like a keeper !
This is what's keeping the volunteers busy !
Oxalis corniculata, the creeping woodsorrel, procumbent yellow sorrel [2] or sleeping beauty, is a somewhat delicate-appearing, low-growing herbaceous plant in the family Oxalidaceae. It is a small creeping type of woodsorrel that tends to grow well in moist climates
