The volunteers were replanting hostas today !

It sooned warmed up to 19 C !

Let's see how things progress this hosta growing season :)

A gorgeous day to be outside, do a bit of weeding

and enjoy freshly brewed coffee and home made apple pie !

A busy week at Het Gazebo !

First we'll start with NL Doet !

The volunteers arrived a day early :)

The weather forecast was much better than expected on Friday !

So, with a the enthusiastic group of people, they 

covered the paths with bark mulch, weeded

and enjoyed a great lunch together !

Today, a Spring like sunny blue sky 15 C day!

The volunteers were expanding the hosta beds,

replanted the newly created areas and weeded.

Wow ! Lots of work the last week !

This will be great in just a few months time !

 

Het Gazebo prepares for NL Doet !

Today there were a few volunteers busily preparing for this coming Friday. It's time for the yearly NL Doet volunteer action day ! New volunteers are encouraged to sign up and take part in registerd organizations that need volunteers throughout the year. Maybe joining in at Het Gazebo in Diepenheim is for you ?  Friday the 13th just might be your lucky day !

Last week was code yellow for freezing rain, ice and snow!

Today might have been the warmest 25th of February on record !

There are new plans! 

 Bigger planting beds with fewer paths between them.

The idea is to make weeding this huge abstract

Hosta leaf easier and more managable.

Sounds like a great start to 2026 !

That's a wrap for 2025 !

 Thank you to all the volunteers that kept Het Gazebo loking great though out the year ! There were many new weather records this year. That didn't keep them away.  The gorgeous hosta greens have now been transformed to hues of Autumnal golden bronze. Today was the last day for Weeding Wenesdays for 2025.  Het Gazebo is open for visitors the rest of the year ! Always a great place to stroll through if you're in the Diepenheim area !

 We've had two heat waves, 

warmer than normal temperatures for this time of the year 

which meas a lot less rain fall !

But with all that being said,

Het Gazebo had a few gorgeous hosta growing months !

It's been a great Summer !

 Autumn begins next week !

We're ready to welcome those golden hosta colours !
