Added to the list !
Beer and mustard seed have been added to the European list of
basic substances for plant and crop protection !
According to the CTGB click here
Beer is allowed for the use against slugs and snails
and mustard seed as a fungicide!

Can you believe it's October!
Two days ago, we experienced the warmest 16 October!
A record breaking 24 C !
Today we're in Diepenheim, Het Gazebo!
A few degrees cooler, but still a gorgeous day!
Corn is being harvested! Red beech loosing leaves!
Signs of Autumn at Het Gazebo!
November 15th and December 13th!
Those are our next planned work party days!

A is for Apple Candy !
Hosta ' Apple candy'
Today members of The Dutch Hosta Society board of directors headed to Jonkersvaart, Groningen! Board meetings rotate though out The Netherlands! This time it's by Jannes! A tour of the garden then coffee and delicious Dutch apple pie recharged us before we started the meeting!
2018 is looking like a great hosta year! Saturday March 3rd, it's the Hosta Master Class and Meeting! The month of May looks like we'll be busy at the garden fairs! June takes us on our Summer garden tour! And that's just the beginning! Want to join in the fun? Become a member of The Dutch Hosta Society! See you at one of the events!

2 days in 1 !
That's what it felt like for Het Gazebo work party!
The weather forecast was promising for today in Diepenheim!
But the morning hot chocolate and cupcake break
was enjoyed under cover, a party tent ! Misty rain!
By mid afternoon the weather improved!
September sunshine! almost 20C!
That sure does make a difference when weeding!
We rounded off the day with drinks out on the terrace!
Thanks to all who helped fill the trailer with weeds!
We're back here on October 18th!

We're in Belgium!
The Dutch Hosta Society's September garden tour was in Belgium!
Sunshine, 10 am and we were all ready!
Name badges, participant list and lots of enthusiasm!
Hosta Garden Over de Beek in Meeuwen was our first stop! More than 50 participants arrived to enjoy a welcoming cup of coffee and traditional Limburgs " Vlaai" in this gorgeous part of Limburg's Belgium!
This garden includes a stroll around a lake!
Hostas are still looking good here!

What?! It's already time to gather our hostas and head for home!
Thanks to the Gelders Family for their generous hospitality!
From the amount of chatter and laughter heard amongst friends,
We all had a great time! In a beautiful garden! In Belgium!
