May vacation is heating up !

25 C today in Diepeinheim !

and the other with added harrisa, chai and more :)

Another few more day of sunshine expected !

Time to make a day trip out to Diemepheim !

 

Perfect growing conditions at Het Gazebo !

Easter weekend was warm and sunny .

Monday brought cool weather and showers .

This means slugs and snails are coming out to eat as well !

There's a new hosta added to Het Gazebo collection ! 

Hosta 'Empress Wu' 

 XL /XXL hostas growing to 120 - 140 cm ! 

The volunteers were able to get a few dry hours 

of weeding in this morning .

Lots of vacation days coming up!

Why  not walk, cycle or drive over for a visit !

There are a few great places for coffee too near by !

 

It's hosta growing season at Het Gazebo !

We've had lots of sun and warm weather for this time of year !

Now the rainy weather is encouraging the hostas to grow !

Wow ! Doesn't the sight of this one want you to go out and get a hosta !

After all the hard work the volunteers have been putting in ,

it's now time to enjoy the coming growing season !

 

A busy morning at Het Gazebo !

Hosta 'wu-la-la' has a new creative barrier :)

The extra bark mulch acquired is much appreciated !

This will cover the paths and help keep the weeds to a minimum!

That's the plan !  

And the irrigation sprinkler was tested.

Not yet necessary as it's only the top layer that's dry.

March weather records !

This year ,2025,has been the most sunny March ever !

 247 hours of sunshine compared to 150  

It has also been one of the driest !

5 mm rain fall comared to 56 mm

Het Gazebo still looks great 

thanks to the volunteers !

Today they started spreading their self made 

great quality compost over the borders

 so when the rain does come  

the hostas can absorb all that goodness !
